The website you see right now has now been online for over a year, with the site steadily growing in size and stature since it's first day online in January 2007.

Its primary aim in this first year was to provide a steady, loyal fanbase of readers, and to slowly increase monthly hit rates by using word of mouth to raise the websites standing in an overcrowded market. By the end of the year, it had reached its intended monthly hits target for 2007.

EVOLVING FOR OUR READERS

We are always looking to expand our operations, and in keeping with that we have already added a Live Gigs, Blog and TV & Film section, alongside a fledgling Book and Bandidge Radar section since our first launch.

There have been increases in interactivity too, with video content and daily news feeds being incorporated into our front page to provide entertainment in a fun package, rather than a series of pages with increased loading times.

We've enhanced our community too, with the message board being cut in favour of comment boxes on every article page instead due to public demand, although the Forum will be returning soon. The introduction of star ratings been added too, allowing people to put up their rating for a particular song.

TARGET AUDIENCE

Our target audience here at Bandidge is for readers primarily from 15-35 years in age, both male and female, although we do have evidence from feedback that we are also catering for people outside of this age bracket.

This is one reason for the design of our website. The strategy is to make sure that all content on the website is easily found, and simple in its layout, rather than getting over complicated with vast columns and layouts which either require scouting or a tolerance of an image and text heavy setup, which can be off-putting.

It echoes the writing style we provide here at Bandidge. It's not sensationalised, 'hyped' or in a form of tabloid-style musings. It's about providing an honest and trustworthy website that our readers can trust to not insult their intelligence - either musically or generally.

OUR LATEST TARGETS AND FUTURE PLANS

During 2008, we are pushing forward our promotional and advertising sections, with an emphasis on taking the lead on self-promotion. We are also incredibly interested in hearing from prospective companies and bidders who would like to advertise on this very website.

Currently, we are also looking at an exciting proposition to offer to potential clients in regards to maximising brand exposure, for a great fee. Details are still being finalised at the moment with our partner in this venture, but do email Rob if you are interested in being kept informed with the latest.
