"Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Bandiiiiiiiidge, Happy Birthday to you!"
Online for one whole year! It might sound silly to be celebrating it, but it’s a damn fine achievement.
Tomorrow, we wipe the slate clean and start again, in a metaphorical sense, but not before we take a breather for today to take a look around and take in what has happened in the last 12 months.
Right now, I’ve gotta carry on with writing, coding and designing, but if you want, raise a glass to us wherever you are, or just leave a message below, or on the MySpace/Facebook pages or whatever takes your fancy.
One day I’ll get a chance to stand still and take all of this in.
Before I go, I want to thank all of you for reading the site, for participating in it, for telling people about us, for some of you for abusing us when you didn’t like a review – thanks to whomever it was who called me a “limp prat”, I haven’t laughed so hard in a long time! :) - and for just generally being there for us from last year to this.
And also, thanks to all of the record company peoples, PR types, tour managers, and bands and personalities who have sent things through to us, organised all sorts of events, busted their chops for us, been interviewed by us, helped us out, as well as friends and family who have tolerated, humoured, inspired and supported us.
Finally, thankyou to all of the writers, photographers, designers and contributors. Be proud of what you’ve done on the site, you’ve done brilliantly this year, and you’ve been a fantastic bunch of lads and ladies to work with.
A special thankyou to Will Barrington too. You're a total hero mate.
It’s a cliché, but the site really wouldn’t be here without any of you. If I could shake all of your hands and say thankyou in person I would, but it probably would take me a good year to do so, and would probably involve me doing a Dave Gorman-esque adventure.
Actually…that sounds like an idea…
