HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US!

Bandidge is a year old today! To celebrate we've got a whole host of new features including where you are right now. For one day only you can visit the site as it used to be, in all its pink glory. To return to the current way of things click the link below.

OTHER NEW ADDITIONS ONE YEAR AGO

DJ POPS IN FOR A CHAT

Forget Chris Moyles, we spoke to the real saviour of Radio 1 and asked him questions someone only of his music authority could answer. We also find out why he thinks John Peel was such a music legend and why he could never hope to replace him.

  NEW CD REVIEWS ON BANDIDGE.COM

The first new reviews are filtering in to Bandidge HQ, with Kaiser Chiefs' new single 'Ruby', Seth Lakeman's latest and a hot tip for 2007 in the form of The Twang are up for all to see. How do they fare? Find out right here...

  747s FLY BY BANDIDGE

If the E.U. wanted an advert for music from around the continent, they could do worse than look at the 747s. Coming from Liverpool, via Ireland, England, Germany and Italy, we look at a band who have been involved in terror threats, global protests and playing pots and pans.

AN OFFICIAL WELCOME (ONE YEAR AGO)      BANDIDGE BLOG (NOW INFO STATION)

Hello, and welcome to Bandidge.com!

The website you see before your very eyes has been in development for 15 months, which has flown by quicker than any of us on the Bandidge team could imagine. But why the long wait? It's simple. As a famous drinks advertising slogan goes: "We only let you drink it when it’s ready." The same rules apply here, just with more viewing, and less drinking...

We didn't want to put the website online as a half-baked idea. We needed the time to find the right people to work on it, the right web design that summed up the identity of Bandidge, and we also needed something good to actually show you.

What you see in front of you is a journey. A journey of 15 months, from wide-eyed trainee journalists, to slightly more experienced music journalists. Everything on this site was done with the ambition in mind of one day having a website to look at that had no real limitations - Only the ambition and determination to do what we wanted. Some of the things you will find on the site are slightly dated, but that can only change with time, and contribution.

And this is where you can step in. This website is open to you to submit your articles, reviews, opinions and general musings. If you don't like how something is written, then do the best thing - write something yourself, and have it published, right here on Bandidge. This very site started on that same principle, so don't hesitate - drop me an email and tell me your plans.

Have a look around and tell your friends about us. Introduce yourselves on the Message Board and check out our MySpace page too. It's only by working together that we can create something amazing.

Look forward to hearing from you,

Rob
Editor, Bandidge.com

Skins II - It's here from February, and to launch the series, there's a typically manic live gig to boot.

Featuring Mylo, Maximo Park, New Young Pony Club, Crystal Castles, Kissy Sell Out, The Metros, Late Of The Pier & many more, this is a music tour to not miss out on.

Thats right - music tour. Calling at six venues around the UK in the lead up to series II, they'll be showing the first episode of the new series, whilst throwing an equally decadent show too. See where, here.

You can get tickets - first come, first served - from MySpace, Bebo and E4.com from Thurs, 17th Jan. for free! All events are strictly over 18s only.

That not enough? try this BRAND NEW TEASER TRAILER for the show. Windows | QTime - You must be over 18 to view the following video.
