While they make machines sound beautiful in the manner of Kraftwerk, Booka Shade, vintage Kenny Larkin and the Belleville Three, OrtzRoka have a thoroughly modernist aesthetic.

Heralded by the dance press and influential media such as Fluokids, Channel 4 Music and Popjustice, they’ve received huge support from musician and DJ folk as varied as Busy P, New Young Pony Club, Laurent Garnier, Erol Alkan, Justin Robertson, Ewan Pearson, Prins Thomas, Rob Da Bank, People Are Germs and Ivan Smagghe.

They have supported Midnight Juggernauts with their energised live set and DJ gigs as varied as car launches in Frankfurt and Vice Magazine parties in London, Ortzroka are on the verge of making some serious waves.

In no more than 25 words, explain what makes you different to what’s out there already…

“OrtzRoka are as organic as the carrots grown in your grandmothers compost garden.”

It’s a wet and windy Tuesday evening in February and you’re on tour. Why should people venture out to come see you?

“Our shows give energy to your heart and to the dancefloor. You’ll be dry in no time so come on in!”

Are you currently holding down other jobs? If so, what are they, and would you recommend them to other aspiring artists in need of cash?

“Running a record label, DJing, networking, producing, remixing and servicing our respective ladies requests for shopping trips…I’d say there are a few jobs there already.”

You’re on top of a soapbox, telling everyone where you aspire to be in five years time. Where do you aim to be, and what’s your mission statement?

“Work hard, stay focussed, never get complacent and believe in yourself.  (Repeat over).”

For a bonus point – tell us a joke! You don’t have to, but if you feel the urge…

“How do you get a cow to come to your gig?”
