Cute Is What We Aim for are the biggest selling band in the ten year history of their label, with NME describing them as the "hottest new emo breakthrough band". This single really spells out why the band has been so successful.
If you can get past this band's awful name and even more awful haircuts, this single is definitely worth a listen.
Cute Is What We Aim For have been wrongly tarred with the ‘emo’ brush. They may have the infamous ‘emo fringe’ and MySpace following, but listening to this single almost takes you back a few years when pop-punk was at it's peak.
Toe-tapping beats and a sing-along chorus make a great summer hit, seeming to take over roles from bands such as Blink 182 and Something Corporate.
One downfall of this single is its lyrics, seeming to show the arrogance of vocalist Shaan. Lines such as "I'm too hip to keep tight lipped" and "I've got the gift of one liners" really ruin this catchy tune.
Aside from the conceited lyrics and dodgy haircuts, you should give this band a go. You never know, you might even fall for their Cuteness.
