It wasn't easy for these guys to win Channel 4's MobileAct Unsigned after being booted out and then sensationally voted back in by the viewers.
So what are Envy and Other Sins up to with that £1million recording contract?
If you didn't catch any of the show then you might be wondering what all the fuss is about. The four-piece from Birmingham wowed the judges on the unsigned music talent competition not just with their music but also with their irregular choice in stage props.
Yes you did read correctly, stage props. But rather than creating a scene from Cash in the Attic, Envy and Other Sins use rugs, lampshades and anything else circa 1900 to create an experience during their lives shows.
Their first single release, Highness, was used a fair amount in the show and is a definite head-sticker. Their quirky take on British Pop merges a whole different range of styles all bought together with an equestrian/vintage tinge.
Its not groundbreaking music and you will be comparing them to the likes of the Hoosiers and The Feeling but this track is a little delight in itself.
Confused? Get yourself a listen. Whilst the track doesn't completely represent how diverse the guy’s style is, it’s a starting point on where they look to be heading. Maybe soon they won’t just be bringing themselves to the table; they will be bringing the table with them.
